Contemporary Western Women Project

We all gain inspiration and hope from each other, and we know that a good laugh is sometimes just the thing we need to keep us going. Airing every Thursday on Utah Public Radio, KUSU-FM, 91.5 FM, between 9:25 and 9:35 a.m., the Contemporary Western Women project features personal stories of strength, hope, and humor told by contemporary women in the west or from the West.

The stories are recorded, edited, and aired by Storee Powell, a recent Journalism and Communications graduate of USU. The radio broadcast features just a small portion of the stories, but audio transcripts in their entirety will be cached on the Center's website Archive Page.

You are welcome to access them for your own interest, for use with women's groups or for class projects, but please give credit to the woman whose story it is; to Storee Powell, editor and director of Contemporary Western Women; and to the Center for Women and Gender, Utah State University.
